Last week at the Democratic National convention in Denver, citizen journalist/blogger/NC activist Graig Meyer started an impressive series of video "mutual interviews" with several fascinating folks attending the convention. The first one is with North Carolina Democratic party Chair Jerry Meek.

It is with great pleasure that we inform you of the decision of the Guilford
County Progressive Democrats to endorse Roy Carter in his campaign for the
NC 6th congressional seat now held by Virginia Foxx.

We wish him success and will recommend him for volunteering opportunities
and contributions to all our friends and acquaintances in his district.

From Pricey Harrison's August 22, 2008 Newsletter:

Greetings,

Education remains one of the main priorities of government in North Carolina and this year, even as we faced challenges in our economy, the General Assembly continued its strong investment in public schools.

Greetings,

Progressive Democrats of North Carolina, as you know, decided to endorse in the Lt. Governors race in the Democratic Primary. We have endorsed Dan Besse in that race. The board felt that the issues in the primary for state Commissioner of Labor and Commissioner of Insurance were also very important to progressives, but, because candidates for those positions were not known until right before the filing date, we felt that we did not have the time and resources to do an endorsement process.

news and observer story

In a surprise reversal. the state Attorney General's Office now says it's legal for the N.C. Community College System to admit illegal immigrants.

With the state convention only a month away, now is the time for us to decide which resolutions fit our platform best and focus on those to get them passed.

Please comment on this thread with resolutions that have passed in your district that we may then narrow our attention.
