Big Pharma Quietly Hikes Drug Prices 100 Percent or More

(NaturalNews) Without any fanfare, pharmaceutical companies have been raising the prices of many of their drugs by 100 percent or more, according to a study conducted by researchers from the University of Minnesota.
In his first major speech since being confirmed, the nation's first black attorney general told an overflow crowd celebrating Black History Month at the Justice Department the nation remains "voluntarily socially segregated."
"Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot, in things racial we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards," Holder declared.

Contending that North Carolina must do more to protect workers, a state lawmaker Wednesday introduced legislation to take the job of enforcing workplace safety away from Labor Commissioner Cherie Berry.
Under the bill sponsored by state Sen. Doug Berger, authority for running the state's occupational safety and health program would shift from the labor department to Gov. Beverly Perdue.

That means we need as many grassroots organizations taking this post-election moment to get (back) into the business of reshaping the Democratic Party and building a principles-based progressive movement....

"Paul Wellstone's 'Democratic Wing of the Democratic Party' finally has a functional voice," wrote John Nichols in a roundup of the "Most Valuable Progressives of 2008."
