The plight of the workers at Case Farms in Morganton serves as another example of North Carolina's long history of anti-unionism and worker exploitation.

The hardships that the meat packing plant employees have been forced to endure should have caught the attention of the state's lawmakers long ago, and in any other state they would have.

Once again Shuler was a no show.Instead he spoke by phone from , yes you guessed it !, his sons sporting event.Representative Ray Rapp spoke. He is a class act. But, I'm left to wonder, how long does Shuler think he can dodge his party ? Guess his speaking slot at NRA Convention in Charlotte was more important. His speaking slot came after John Thune and Haley Barbour. This guy is getting ready to change parties or drop out.Maybe we should have a poll - Will Shuler switch parties or decline to run in 2012 ?

Aixa Wilson(pron. Asia),Democratic 11th Congressional District candidate spoke to our group today. He received polite applause, when a representative for Heath Shuler spoke she was met with a bit of a cold shoulder. I was surprised that she point blank admitted that Heath knew that many rank and file Democrats were upset with his no vote on health care, and her only defense was that if we didn't vote for Shuler and a Republican won the Republican would be worse!
