Assistance for Haiti
Hello friends,
I am coming to the Annual Convention, and I am also working on a small project to help the people of Haiti. This is being organized via my church (Asheville Friends Meeting) and the American Friends Service Committee. Haiti has suffered several hurricanes, buildings falling down, and people dying of starvation. This is just a small effort to try and help them out in their time of desperate need.
They have received an urgent appeal to send Hygiene Kits and Infant Kits to Haiti as soon as possible. Please help with this desperate need. Below is a list of items needed. You do not need to put items into a zip lock bag - we will do that later. Please contribute what you can, and money donations are also needed. Please give these items to me at the Annual Convention, and I will pack into kits and deliver to High Point, NC.
HYGIENE KIT
1 Tube Toothpaste
1 toothbrush
1 Bottle Shampoo
1 Bar Bath Soap (Antibacterial or Ivory)
1 Comb (Wide-toothed)
1 Washcloth
1 Small Towel
All placed in one gallon zip locked bag.
INFANT KIT
2 Receiving Blankets
4 Baby Washcloths
1 Baby Towel
1 Bar Baby Soap (or Ivory or Baby Liquid Soap)
1 Small Tube or Jar Petroleum Jelly
2 Pairs Infant Socks
AND --- Also keep in mind your local food pantry. They are running out of food, and our neighbors are hungry!
