Candidate Statement for Outreach Chair - Isaac Coleman

Candidate for Outreach Chair – Isaac Coleman

I am stepping down as Chair of the PAC Committee to run for the Outreach Committee position because of my strong belief in the priority of broader outreach and building diversity in the Progressive Democrats of North Carolina. I’ve been a political organizer and activist from my days with the Student Non-violent Organizing Committee doing community organizing and voter registration in Mississippi. More recently I managed the campaign for the first African American Mayor of Asheville, Terry Bellamy and organized the coalition of candidates that resulted in the first progressive majority on the Asheville City Council. I also serve as Second Vice President of the Buncomb County Democratic Party and on the board of Clean Water for North Carolina. I’ve been a resident of Asheville for 35 years.
