We are pleased to announce that the Center for Environmental Farming Systems (www.cefs.ncsu.edu) has been funded to reach out across the state and together with our partners ask: What will it take to build a sustainable local food economy in North Carolina?
Regional meetings will be held to bring together those engaged in all aspects of the food system. Read more below...
A new program called Fork to Farm just held a Summit on sustainable food. Governor Bev Perdue pledged support. "I'm on your team. Tell me what you need to grow this whole new industry. . . . You are beginning to change the tide, directing the links between local agriculture and jobs and the economy. You all are red hot. Finally people across the state and the country are beginning to realize you are red hot."
