HKonJ Lobby Day Wednesday May 26th
VOICE HEARD IN THE HALLS OF GOVERNMENT!
First Baptist Church
101 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC
Opening Session -9 AM
SPREAD THE WORD!
We are mobilizing for our annual People Of Color/HKonJ lobby day in Raleigh, starting at 9 am this Wednesday, May 26th, at First Baptist Church and then on to the General Assembly to lobby.
Our demands will include: reverse the slash and burn budget which will impact education, social services, health and mental health, poor and working people; enact progressive revenues to balance and mediate the cuts; pass ethics in government and full disclosure legislation; repeal Jim Crow General Statute 95-98 which denies public workers the right to collectively bargain; create a meaningful jobs program to refuel the state's economy and address the continuing high unemployment rate; and restrict the application of the death penalty.
DON'T BUDGET ON THE BACKS OF THE POOR!
