PDNC Phone Conference Minutes January 22, 2008

Agenda

Belated welcome to the Beaufort County chapter and board member Pat Seibert


Next steps in coordinating with Besse campaign (Isaac and PAC committee)
Will coordinate on Saturday at SEC mtg.; Isaac will talk to Christine and
coordinate lists, PDNC members to do house parties; get campaign schedule,
participate in phone banks


Organizing turn out for HK on J (note it will take place at Chavis Park in
Raleigh - see

Everyone is encouraged to contact local NAACP chapters and other Progressive
groups..(latino advocacy, religious progressives, environmental groups,
Democracy Now chapters, etc)  Email flyers to everyone you know!  Susan sent
out the new flyers tonight.

Heide and Pete will talk and find someone to represent PDNC in Durham at the
NAACP on Sat.


Getting the committees working and their specific projects:
*    Messaging and Communications Strategy: Sally Goerner, Susan ....need
to connect
*    Electronic Infrastructure: Mike O., Tara Bloomquist (Constant
Contact) ................. will get videos of Rev. Barber and Marisol up and
will work to present new PDNC blog at next conference call
*    Social Justice and Partnership Building: Heide, Gloria, Ben, Pat,
Susan will move the HK on J event.  Susan will get banner.
*    Legislative: Jesse, Mike S., Chris ....
*    Fundraising: Helen, Susan, David ...need to get together and talk by
phone or email
*    Membership: Matilda and ???  She would like others to help!.....
efforts need to be put into chapter building....Jesse has some ideas and can
help


Details of the Jan 26th Membership meeting at the SEC and advancing our
proposals. What else?

Agenda for Sat the 26th - Pete will draft and Matilda will put out.
*    Resolutions ...discuss the 5 we would like to push
*    POO resolution ...Suggest that the PDNC is wanting to endorse new
proposal....discuss pros and cons...take a vote
*    Chapter-building & membership ...discuss ideas of building
*    Committees ...introduce and solicit extra support/members
*    HkonJ ...encourage everyone to come
*    Dan Besse....Isaac will let the group know that we are endorsing him
and will ask for their support
