This is the first post of my first PDNC blog. I've been a member for all of 5 minutes. When I saw this organization listed on an Internet search I was surprised. I honestly didn't think there were any progressive democrats in this state. I'm glad to know there are. I wish there was a chapter here in Catawba County where I could meet and work with like-minded folks (great platform, guys!), but unfortunately I don't think that will happen anytime soon. For now I'll be happy with my new blog. There are a lot of things I've been looking into politically, and they worry me.

As President Obama prepares to address a joint session of Congress, what can we expect to hear?
The pundits will stress the nuts-and-bolts policy issues: the banking system, education, energy, health care. But beyond policy, there will be a vision of America - a moral vision and a view of unity that the pundits often miss.
What they miss is the Obama Code.
